Stop overthinking your content format
A repeatable framework that builds your expertise
Welcome to new Audacious Introverts joining the 20th edition of this newsletter 👋 Every week, I, Laura, share curated frameworks from the creator economy that helped me transition from biomedical engineer to audacious content creator. Overthink everything, show up anyway🤓
There is no good time to start writing a newsletter.
When I finally started, I went through the typical mistakes
Waiting until I was ‘ready’
Creating a newsletter with an incredibly clever name that nobody understood (before I started this one, that is)
Not having a clear, repeatable structure → procrastinating
Creating value via email is a whole different beast from posting LinkedIn content.
People will ruthlessly unsubscribe if you decide to send out billboard quotes.
Email providers will block you if you are a spammer.
Or worse, letters will remain unread in a secret secondary email account that is used only to download the promised freebies.
This edition is for you if you are thinking of starting your own newsletter or being more intentional about your current one.
Today I’m introducing you to The Niche Expert Breakdown Format by email marketing wizard Daniel Bustamante.
A Newsletter needs to teach, laugh or entertain. Don’t be boring.
Framework #20: The Niche Expert Breakdown Format
by Daniel Bustamante
The solution to writing a consistent newsletter is to have a repeatable format.
It solves two important struggles:
Reduce the panic of what to write every week.
Create clear expectations for what your email content delivers. Be predictable. The last thing people want is another tariff gate in their inbox.
Step one: promise an outcome-focused transformation
This is equally important for the positioning and the content itself.
Strategic positioning is not an accident. Creators are leveraging a specific transformation to attract their ideal readers.
For example:
Build a profitable LinkedIn audience in months (not years) - The LinkedIn Creator
Create high-converting email sequences, newsletters & lead magnets 10x faster - AI Email Marketing Prompts
Get weekly actionable advice on how to build your online business through your personal brand - Huntrs
There are 3 key elements:
- Decide what your emails will cover
- Clarify what people will gain from reading your newsletter
- Why is your email valuable
A simple formula Daniel shares is:
"Every [frequency], you’ll get [what you cover] so you can [benefit] without [pain point].”
Step two: Choose an asset or deliverable
Ideally, something that is related to any of your services or offers
(or something you typically save for later, ban to your notion vault, or forget in a chat conversation with yourself)
For example:
Write with AI
Asset = weekly AI prompts for digital writers. Why we buy
Deliverable = actionable insight into consumer psychology to help you sell more effectivelyGrowth in Reverse
Deliverable = reverse-engineered newsletter strategies for audience growth from top creators
Action step:
→ Decide what asset you are going to provide or ‘break down’.
→ Look and collect examples.
→ Ship every week.

Content Idea of the week:
Asking for help 🙋🏼♀️
Author: Laura Woythe
Why it works: People have a LOT to share. Asking as a newbie in a topic or field can be a rewarding way to connect with peers
