Sneak Peek:
If itβs not a hell yesβ¦
How to say no (respecting your and othersβ time)
I should have said a straight no to that opportunity.
Instead, my people pleaser mind manipulated me into saying: βSure! Why not?β
One mistake in judgment is no problem. But a systematic mindset of why nots leads to a downward spiral
not truly enjoying your week anymore
getting pulled in different directions
exhaustion
If itβs not a hell yesβ¦
You know what they say.
If itβs not a hell yes, itβs most likely a no.
Donβt take it from me, take it from Derek Sivers, former musician and entrepreneur.
Sivers says:
only say yes to what truly lights you up. Everything else? Protect your time. Say no.
Being clear about what excites you isnβt selfish, itβs how you stay aligned and make space for what matters.
Youβre not here to do everything. Youβre here to do your thing
(no apology needed).
Say no
Jefferson Fischer lays it out like this:
Say no directly and kindly. Then, express gratitude
Start with βI canβtβ
Followed by the gratitude βThank you for considering me.
Add some kindness, βLet me know how it goesβ
In need of more killer advice, I leave you the full video:
Until next time,
(donβt no me π₯Ή!)
