Audacious Introverts: Have a unique value proposition
making without faking

Sneak Peak:
Is uniqueness boxing us?
Personal branders have this in common
This week I obsessed about unique value propositions.
Related (but not to be confused) with what they call unique selling points in marketing and sales.
You see, in a one-person business, you, too, bring uniqueness to what you are selling.
But it is freaking hard to put that into words.
You can’t possibly fit into a box
If I am unique, why is it I need marketing at all?
You feel FOMO on opportunities you may miss out on because of defining yourself.
As solopreneurs, our uniqueness is often not found but built.
Here is why it is still relevant to do so.
Are you a doctor or a heart surgeon?
People buy from people they trust.
The way people build their business on the internet nowadays is by doing one specific thing over and over again. The more specific or niche, the better. The more boring you think you sound, the more on target you are.
It is a risky choice because, inevitably, you are excluding a big part of the human population by calling out a specific service for a specific target audience.
Specializing in life science marketing is not the same as specializing in climate change thought leadership. Even though I hope we associate both with science.
Let’s consider our own preferences for a second.
If we had a heart issue (I really hope not) and the choice was between consulting with a general doctor or a heart surgeon, I don’t even need to finish the sentence; we all know what we would choose.
Take this example and reflect: How can you apply this same principle to your business?
And with that, it’s time to twist the knife just a little more.
Mainstream or unapologetic?
Personal branders that have their unique value proposition figured out, have this in common:
They are unapologetic in their copywriting. There is no doubt or questioning of the use of AI.
You can read their post style from a mile away. Branding is creating visuals and copy so aligned that they are unmistakable.
Contrary to the mainstream bitching about the algorithm, they just do their thing. Period.
In expert terms, they call it consistent positioning.
An audacious introvert may call it not giving a care in the world about other people.
I like to think of it as being in your element.
What is so unique to you that you can’t seem to shake?

Keep up the audacity,
