Nanoscientist turned writer

Sweating the small stuff?
Me too.

I spent my PhD studying things a billionth of a metre wide. These days I write about the small stuff that shapes big things: the tiny daily decisions that turn a scientist into the author of their own career.

The small stuff, three ways.

01

Interviews with scientists

Nanoscience in Barcelona, a Master's at Leiden and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at TU Eindhoven. Now I interview researchers and PhD graduates and turn hour-long conversations into commissioned articles people actually finish, for outlets like the ICMS magazine at TU Eindhoven. I speak lab, so you don't have to translate.

Creative at heart

Creator Science helps independent creators build sustainable businesses through a podcast, a newsletter and The Lab, a community for professional creators.

Since 2025 I've been its Creative Associate, building the creative assets behind the scenes: lead magnets, social media content, content editing and helping with other lead generation materials. It's where the scientist in me gets to play.

A newsletter for audacious introverts

Personal development for scientists going their own way: visibility, career pivots and creative work through an introverted lens. Story-driven, a bit nerdy, never preachy.

From the readers

Kind words.

“Audacious Introverts is my favourite newsletter. With each issue, I get a story which I tend to find wildly relatable, REAL, reflexive and most of the time funny! Sometimes I learn something new and sometimes I get inspired to start a conversation. In any case, I am always happy and curious to have a peek inside the mind of this audacious creator.”
Ana Ortiz Perez Another curious mind
“From ‘Main Character energy’ to ‘Friday experiments’, the Audacious Introverts newsletter encouraged me to search inside, deeper, and take what I found to move into action outside. When reading Laura, a lot of thoughts would come, which in turn encouraged me to lay the next steps down, write the next article, and even register for an event about connection. Daring!”
Sophie Abbad Reader
“Laura’s newsletter makes me smile. She’s funny, and she doesn’t push, and I like that a lot.”

1,300 words

“Laura’s content has inspired me to write some of my own ideas down. 1,300 words later, I’ve got the beginnings of that book.”

Commission an article.

Got a story that's stuck in a lab notebook, or an idea about work and life that deserves better than a bullet list? I'll research it, interview the right people and write it up properly.
